The Minijec1 is the latest tiny pico projector from Thanko, it’s another one of those super small projectors that is suitable for use with not only your pc. but more interestingly with your small portable device such as an ipod, iphone or other media storage.
This means you can project your images for business, parties, entertaining or even camping (with a suitable surface obviously).
You will need to be realistic with your expectations for projectors this small though, you will get approx 14inch image at 60cm from the unit and up to approx 45inch image at 2m away.
Quality will vary depending on the light conditions and what surface the image is projected onto, wall, screen etc.
Thanko’s tiny pico projector really is pocket size, at approximately 61 x 37 x 60mm and weighs in at around 42g.
Cost $322 (£198)
US Digital Transition Complete

The digital transition for the US was due for completion by 12th June, analog signals are to finally stop broadcasting tv meaning that if you hadn’t already thought about how to switch to digital then you have a problem.
According to recent information there are possibly 2.8 million homes that where still not set up for the switch over.
It sounds as if the elderly have taken action whilst certainly some younger residents are yet to make the change?
This means there could be a huge rush for the latest digital tech to enable people to continue viewing as they have been used to (but better quality).
Keep a look out for future developments that may now utilise the available analog airwaves, such as possible wireless broadband developments?

If you’re into the Archos Media Players then you’ll be glad to here that there are some new models on the way soon.
The Archos 3 PMP is looking like it will come with an 8GB flash memory which should be capable of storing somewhere in the region of 4,000 songs. The Archos 3 PMP should sport a 3 inch touch screen with a “virtual Wheel” to make navigation really simple. Details on exactly how this is going to work are a little unclear, maybe a touch sensitive design or overlay on the screen?
The battery life will probably be around 14hrs for audio playback and the player comes with an audio recorder, calendar, clock and FM radio. Obviously photos, video and ya tunes are all in there as usual.
Price for the Archos 3 PMP is looking like it’s going to be around $141.
Polaroid Two – Digital Instant Camera

What’s a polaroid camera doing here, on a gadget site?
Thought they were long gone or old school?
Think again!
With this latest version, the Polaroid Two Digital Instant Camera, you get the best of both worlds, a compact 7 megapixel digital camera that will also print your photos out onto 2” x 3” sticky back photo paper. Great if you want to quickly share photos with friends or relatives.
The camera actually has a 5 megapixel sensor which uses interpolation to increase the image quality to about 7 megapixels, this quality is fine for all but the most professional snappers. It has a 4x digital zoom and rechargeable battery.
The camera records its images to a memory card so you can download them later to your pc as usual if you don’t want to print them straight away.
Talking of printing, the polaroid two uses inbuilt pogo printer technology to produce a print in about 40 seconds. The heat activated zinc paper it uses is water and fade resistant, smudge proof and tear proof. You can use the 3” screen to decide which pictures to print and make a number of changes including removing red-eye, adding dates, borders and cropping.
We think this newer compact version of the polaroid will become very popular because of its versatility, it’s great for parties, nights out, holidays and meetings. Use just like any digital compact camera but with the added advantage of small instant prints any time you want them.
The Polaroid Two is available now for $330 (£205).
